Man Utd lineup vs Brighton: Predicted XI, team news and injury list for Premier League game

Manchester United will hope Victor Lindelof and Scott McTominay can recover in time to face Brighton this afternoon.

Sweden international Lindelof suffered a knock in last week’s EFL Cup tie against Chelsea and aggravated it in defeat to Bournemouth in the following game.

He was ruled out of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Partizan Belgrade, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoping rest will ease the issue.

United are already short in defence with Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot also out, while Harry Maguire was in pain during the 3-0 win over Partizan – but Solskjaer believes the England international will be fit.

Midfielder McTominay is also a doubt after suffering an ankle injury on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old is hopeful he will recover, but United are waiting to see how he responds over the weekend.

Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic complete Solskjaer’s extensive casualty list, while Ashley Young is suspended.

United are desperate to return to winning ways in the Premier League before the international break after picking up just three victories so far this season.

Solskjaer has at least been boosted by a full strength attack, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James likely to be named as a front trio – though Mason Greenwood is also in contention after scoring another Europa League goal on Thursday.

United go into the game 10 points adrift of the top four and closer to the relegation zone than Champions League qualification.

Man Utd probable XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Rojo; McTominay, Fred; Pereira, Rashford, James; Martial
