“I SAW LEAVES AS SNAKES THE FIRST TIME I SMOKED MARIJUANA”- KNII LANTE

Nii Okunka Blankson popularly known in showbiz as Knii Lante has said, everything appeared to him as funny the first time he took marijuana.

According to medical doctor and reggae musician, even though he does not use marijuana, he urged government to adopt strategies to make cannabis beneficial to the country.

He said, “Marijuana is a drug, so, now it is being prescribed, it is being researched medically and being prescribed in doses and things like that. Let’s look sharp… I’m not saying take it and abuse it; drug abuse might kill you,”

Speaking to Nana Kwesi Asare on Accra based Class Fm monitored by theviewpoint.com, the “52 ambulance” hitmaker said, Rastafarians deserve an apology from society for the way and manner they have been demonised in relation to their marijuana advocacy.

“We owe the Rastas an apology for coming out against them that way then, and thinking that they are talking rubbish, and now we find out that what they were saying is true. The ‘Ganja’ is healing a lot of things”

Asked by the Nana Kwesi if he uses marijuana, Nii Lante responded: “No! I don’t smoke ganja”.

“I was seeing leaves as snakes and I said hey, what they say about ‘wee’ is what I am experiencing and that it could make you go mad…but apparently, these are just acute psychotic things that happen. It can even happen with alcohol,” he said.

Other notable people like musician Samini and actor/politician John Dumelo have spoken about mass production of marijuana for economic gain.
