Award-winning Ghanaian journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, has ‘exposed’ American actress and model, LisaRaye McCoy for ”ignorantly” declaring herself ”Queen mother of Ghana”.
The popular American actress ignited controversy on Twitter following an interview on The Wendy Williams Show.
Host of the show, Wendy Williams, introduce McCoy as a ”Queen of Ghana” but was quickly interjected by the actress who claimed she is ”Queen Mother of Ghana”.
A video of McCoy’s interview with Wendy Williams was shared by Nana Aba Anamoah who sought to draw both McCoy and William’s attention to the grave error because Ghana is not rule by monarch.

There’s nothing more dangerous in this world than IGNORANCE,” Anamoah said in a post on Twitter.
According to reports, a news portal inaccurately reported that on September 22, 2019, a day prior to McCoy’s birthday, she was crowned ‘Queen Mother of Ghana’ after being ‘hand-picked’ by the Paramount Chief of Agona Kwanyako, Chiefs and Kyidom Traditional Divisional Councils for humanitarian engagements in the community.
On September 23, 2019, McCoy shared a video of the ceremony along with a caption on Instagram stating that ”it’s all good. Crowning of Queen Mother of Ghana w/my family last nite. Simply Beautiful.”
However, it appears the American actress was made a ‘Development Queen’ of Agona Kwanyako, an honorary gesture conferred on people by Chiefs in Ghana for their humanitarian works.
