A renowned Islamic scholar and leader of the Darul Hadith Institute for Islamic Studies in the Ashanti Region, Sheikh Anas Tawfiq Ibrahim Al-Bakri, has added his voice to the current Hijab Crisis facing Muslim ladies in the country and cautioned the government concerning other matters facing the muslim communities.

The victim, Rabiatu Mohammed, narrating her story explained that she reported on September 1, 2019, to the Tarkwa branch of SSNIT where she had been posted but was asked by the HR Manager to remove her hijab upon arrival or pursue her national service elsewhere.

In his Friday sermon at the DarulHadith Masjid he spoke about the young lady, a graduate of the University Of Developmental Studies UDS who was sacked upon reporting to undertake her National Service some days back by the SSNIT boss in Tarkwa because she refused to take of her hijab.

And even though the said lady has been reposted to the Electoral Commission office where she has had a better treatment, he believes this matter should be resolved immediately.

He also added that the distrust of the NPP Party by muslims in asawase constituency and Ghana at large has been as a result of this same issues as the NPP government is planning to take off Arabic Education from the educational syllabus.

He is strongly demanding a positive response to the issue and an outline of a positive course of actions to put in measures to prevent any discriminatory acts.
