Review of Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ Album

The Best International Act at the 2019 Black Entertainment Television ( BET) award Burna Boy has released his much anticipated album African Giant cementing his legacy as one of the finest African musicians. The album is exquisite and aptly mastered with catchy songs featuring biggest artist on the world music scene including Grammy award winning Angelique Kidjo, America’s very own Future, YG and Jeremih, Reggae legend Bob Marley’s son Damian Marley, Jorla Smith, Zlatan and Ghanaian rapper M.anifest.

Burna Boy has been a great force to reckon with on the African scene after being the first African alongside Mr. Eazi to perform at Coachella for the past two decades since its inception. He catapulted onto the international music limelight after he expressed worry about the fonts of his name on Coachella’s flyer. He wrote on his Instagram handle “I AM an AFRICAN GIANT and will not be reduced to whatever that tiny writing means,”

The talented musician showed class with his album by incorporating different sounds to make this classic piece and the reactions from the fans is amazing. The African Giant album is a fusion of Afro pop, reggae, dancehall and highlife. The 19 track album is aimed at introducing Africans and black natives in the diaspora to their culture and it’s currently the most talked about record on the African continent.
